How do I cancel an attendee?

Cancelling an individual attendee will not cancel any other attendees in the same order. If you want to cancel an entire group booking, then see this article

ImportantAttendees cannot cancel their own bookings, they must contact you the event organiser to make a cancellation

Go to the attendee record to be cancelled

You can use either the global search system or the search/filter bar to find the attendee.

Click "Manage attendee" and then "Cancel attendee"

You will be asked to confirm the cancellation and may also be asked to confirm the cancellation fees to be applied

You can read more about setting up cancellation fees here, please take particular note of the proviso that EventHQ only collects cancellation fees where payment has already been made. The system never attempts to charge a cancellation fee to someone who has not yet paid as getting paid the fee would not be easy.

Simply click the Cancel attendee button to complete the cancellation

The fee to be charged will be listed for you. Simply click the Cancel attendee button to apply the fee and complete the cancellation.

Pro tipSometimes there are really good reasons for waiving fees. You can do this by unticking the checkbox next to the fee before clicking the cancel attendee button

If a cancellation fee has been applied, it will be shown as a line item on the attendee record

Once a cancellation has been made, the next step is to issue a refund (if any is due).
